Android 15 beta 1 released

Google released the first beta version of Android 15 on April 11, 2024. This initial beta is focused on laying the groundwork for the upcoming stable release, but it does introduce a few new features, including:

 * Edge-to-edge display by default: This will provide a more immersive experience for users with phones that have edge-to-edge displays.

 * System-level app archiving: This will allow users to easily archive apps that they don't use frequently, freeing up storage space.

 * Improved communication features: This includes updates for Braille displays and better support for apps targeting large screens.

 * Enhanced security: Android 15 Beta 1 includes improvements in handling end-to-end encryption in apps and protection against malicious apps.

It's important to note that Google is likely saving some of the bigger new features for a later beta release or even the official launch. We can expect to learn more about these features at Google I/O, which is scheduled for May 14, 2024.
